News and Scores Update of North Zone Vs East Zone, Day 3, Semi-Final of Duleep Trophy 2011/12 at Delhi (Feb 6)

Wiry fast bowler Ashok Dinda captured a superb haul of 8 wickets as East Zone bowled out hosts North Zone for 287 on Day 3 to clinch the crucial first innings lead which will pave their way to enter the Final of the Duleep Trophy.

Dinda’s destruction saw the East Zone just managing to pull off the all-important first innings lead by 28 runs at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. North Zone resuming Day 3 at a decent 162 for 3 in 61 overs folded to 287 in 105 overs.

Ashok DindaThe match is heading for a draw though with East Zone finishing the third day’s play at 120 for 1 in 35 overs with opener Manish Vardhan on an unbeaten 59 (from 115 balls with 9 fours). The overall lead for East Zone is only 148 runs which means that they cannot go for the victory on the fourth and final day without extending it atleast to 250.
